Crackship Manifestos | thatonefangirl asked: Spike
Early in the summer after S4, after months without a human prey and running out of money and options, Spike resigns himself to giving up his last shreds of self-respect and turning to the bitehouse profession to get his blood. He loathes it and loathes himself and the guys and girls who see him as nothing more than a pretty set of fangs, but as the months drag on, his spirit is broken and he’s finally beginning to see himself as nothing at all.
When Riley first begins to experiment with biting, he’s stunned and repulsed to find Spike working in one of the bitehouses. He requests him one day out of a perverse need to humiliate the vampire, but quickly discovers that Spike isn’t nearly as much fun as he’d once been. Disgust with Spike becomes disgust with the system and with himself, and soon he’s using the vampire out of self-loathing and irritation that Spike’s just taking it.
But Riley used to be a good guy, before his own insecurities warped him into a monster, but it takes one round too many of Kick the Spike before he’s reminded of that. Spike’s beaten and bruised and nothing, and Riley finally reconsiders and decides to remove Spike from his toxic lifestyle. The rehabilitation is slow- and they still don’t like each other- but Riley still wants Spike and Spike’s kind of okay with sex with anything that moves, and as they finally surrender to their desires, biting becomes sex becomes a slow, slow beginning to a real relationship.

Crackship Manifestos | skaldsandshadows asked: Willow
First of all, I was actually pretty sure that this was going to be canon, so it goes a little AU. (But what were they thinking? They introduce a new male character who seems to be a brain and instantly connects with Willow, then shortly after that Oz leaves and Riley sees Willow in Wild at Heart, all “It’s not worth hurting yourself over,” and then comes The Intiative, the shippiest Willow/Riley episode of all.)
Riley’s interested in dating Buffy at first. Who wouldn’t be? She’s cute and interesting and she’s friends with Willow, of whom Riley already has a high opinion. And so he goes to Willow to ask her about Buffy and manages to cheer her up just a little, which actually makes him kind of happy, too. The first attempt with Buffy doesn’t go that well, but Willow keeps pushing it and soon it becomes more about bringing a smile to Willow’s face than Buffy herself. When Buffy tells him that she’s getting married, it’s kind of weird but also a relief, and when he realizes that, he knows that this Buffy thing is just a diversion from his real interest in Willow.
He admits it to Buffy when she tries to retract the marriage thing, and she’s kind of bemused but supportive of the relationshipbecause she’s still having dirty dreams about Spike and she needs to sort that out. It’ll be good for Willow to move on, and Riley’s a great guy…so when they talk after Hush, Buffy makes sure that it’s in her dorm room and that Willow’s present, too. Maggie Walsh is fascinated by Buffy’s power but deems Willow’s a threat, and she’s already out of line with Willow by the time Riley decides to separate himself from the Initiative.
And they get closer and closer and finally start datinguntil Willow and Tara wind up having much sex in Riley’s dorm room while it’s possessed in Where the Wild Things Are and Riley is heartbroken. That guy never catches a break, does he?

“I thought I knew … but I don’t. I don’t know anything. I don’t know which team I’m on. Who the bad guys are. Maybe I’m the bad guy. Maybe I’m the thing you should kill.”

“Hey, I’m well aware of how lucky I am. Like, lottery lucky. Buffy’s like nobody else in the world. When I’m with her it’s like … it’s like I’m split in two. Half of me is just on fire, going crazy if I’m not touching her. The other half is so still and peaceful… just perfectly content. Just knows: this is the one.
But she doesn’t love me.”
