I just have a lot of feelings

~SEMI-HIATUS~

Mari. 22. I post much about the Buffyverse. Most of my screencaps and quotes are lifted from these three sites.

Ship ALL the things!

Current request queue ahoy.

Slayers! No waiting!

tw: rape

temporarilyobsessive:

Idk, maybe it’s just me, but I’ve been getting questions about it, so poll!

Without ship-bashing, keeping in mind that ships do not reflect reality and we have every right to enjoy and love a ship that we wouldn’t necessarily put ourselves into in real life, (but in this we are speculating that vampires and souls and the like are real because that is relevant) if you were Buffy, would you go back to Spike after he attempted to rape you?

ETA: Forgiveness =/= going back to the person. So you can forgive and still answer this question no!

#i'm interested in getting more responses so~

  1. traininthedistance answered: Getting a soul meant I would be able to forgive him, but no to going back to him
  2. bloodshotfireclouds answered: in buffy’s shoes, yes to forgiveness, no to going back. what he did’s unforgivable normally, but he had a soul and changed. not enough words!
  3. tennyo-elf answered: If I was Buffy, and in that situation, given the context of the situation and Spike getting a soul because of it, then after time, yes.
  4. shinzyhpfan answered: No. I wouldn’t be comfortable. Sure he didn’t have a soul, and I was strong enough to fight him off, but the memory would still be there.
  5. cheesybadgers answered: No.
  6. nocurefor-curiosity reblogged this from temporarilyobsessive and added:
I saw this yesterday and gave a short-answer response,...many more thoughts
  7. sharpless answered: It was, basically, his demon side that caused him to do that, so provided we’re talking about an ensouled Spike, then yes.
  8. happydestuction answered: Yes. He was soulless, and when he got his soul that was the thing that tortured him above all else. Even without a soul it shook him.
  9. mc-graths answered: Getting his soul was a good move, but it wouldn’t excuse what he did, so no. I would probably come to forgive him for my own sake, though.
  10. bronzeecho answered: I could never re-establish the same kind of intimate relationship, but I would try to take into account his soul and be allies if not friends
  11. steepedsea answered: Spike redeems himself, and we know at the end Buffy trusts Spike. Buffy can choose either way, I personally would choose Spike, ‘cause Spike!
  12. linzyandhobbes answered: this is so difficult.i wouldn’t right away it would take some time, but if after a while we were able to rebuild our friendship i may be able
  13. arwen-nsk answered: yes i would , he got back his soul because he hurted her whereas he is supposed to be an “evil” vampire ( like Angelus for example)
  14. raewinreid answered: Yes With his soul he’s a different person.
  15. ruethebird answered: having had a similar experience, i NEVER wanted to see the person again, but then i’d never liked her in the first place…probably still no.
  16. papercuts-paperhearts answered: Yes. Because he didnt have a soul & yet he could still understand it was wrong. He was literally crazy, you could see it straight after
  17. jayabeee answered: HELL NO
  18. saintofallthesinners answered: I’d forgive him with time because his situation is really complex, but no way in hell would I go back. The relationship’s way too unhealthy.
  19. themalevolentcure answered: I have speculated on this several times myself. One of the things I speculated was that Spike was doing it out of passion like any other rapi
  20. themalevolentcure reblogged this from coalitiongirl
  21. wordyouwield answered: If he had really changed, I would forgive him. But I don’t think I’d ever trust him again. So no.
  22. hannahroboto answered: I think I would only after seeing how much he went through to get his soul back & how much he changed. its hard to put yourself in her shoes
  23. winifredburkle answered: i probably would not.
  24. darthmarion answered: If going back means romantically involved, no. That’d be a definite line. If it means forgivenes, accepting him, given the circumstances, Y
  25. capntrips answered: no, i could never forgive someone for that even if they did change. i can see how it would be in buffy’s nature to, though.
  26. reaverteamspiritaward answered: No. That’s not to say I would shun him or despise him - once I saw how hard he tried, I’d befriend him, but that’s as far as it would go.
  27. probender answered: No, but I would, after some time, try to trust him again.
  28. councilmanknope answered: Personally? No, I don’t think I have the strength to. But Buffy’s a different (fictional) person, and I respect her choices.
  29. coalitiongirl reblogged this from temporarilyobsessive
  30. swarkler answered: After he went through so much to get his soul back, just so he could be sure that’d never happen again? Hell yeah.
  31. phsysics answered: I sent you a long submitted post about it, but my answer is yes, not because of anything that has to do with spike, but because of who I am.
  32. sincerelyyourth answered: If it was Spike the soulles vampire who couldn’t control himself&then went through trials of torture for his redemption then yes.
  33. faiththevampireslayer answered: Y/N Definitely not straight away but he’s shown that he’s capable of remorse and that he’s a selfless champion.
  34. bloodedlilyofthevalley answered: Buffy went back yo him, what does it matter what anyone else would do
  35. alovethat-consumes answered: I think it would be hard, but after some time passed I would. He was mentally unstable at the time, and he regretted his actions immediately.
  36. bite-me-spike answered: YES! he deserves a second chance
  37. outforawalk-bitch answered: IF I were Buffy that would make me the queen of forgiveness, so yeah, given time, most likely.
  38. nocurefor-curiosity answered: I could (and might still) write a rambly post about this later, but my short answer is yes.
  39. slayerofthevampyrs answered: Only if I was actually Buffy (slayer and all) and Spike was still a soulless vampire that got a soul afterwords.
  40. zamolxis answered: He changed afterwards. He at least deserves a second chance
  41. eilowyn answered: IDK. IJDK.
  42. gryfndorgodess answered: I wouldn’t go back in S7 because it would be too soon and souled!Spike would seem too undefinable, but I probably would post-NFA.
  43. iamnotthedamselindistress answered: If I were in Buffy’s situation, I could forgive. If it were me, I don’t think I’d ever see Spike in a romantic manner because of his past.
  44. treesong answered: PROBLEM CHILD OF FANDOM!!! (jk jk
  45. imockyouwithmymonkeypants answered: I would want to. I’m not sure if I could. I guess this isn’t something I could really know without having been in the situation.
  46. kathleenelaine answered: I don’t know what i would do. Honestly, I can’t see myself in that position. Not that I wouldn’t let it happen, but you don’t plan for it.
